Pixie – Photography for Social Media (Session 1)

Ideative Studio2025

an class="inserted--sup--text inserted--ls--hold false elementor-repeater-item-2d4b6b4" >( Project Goals )an> Pixie engaged Ideative Studio to produce their first dedicated social media photography library — a foundational set of imagery to establish the brand's visual presence across Instagram and Snapchat. The brief called for content that showcased Pixie's beauty and skincare products as aspirational, everyday essentials for the Saudi consumer. Our mandate was to build a visual identity through photography that could anchor their feed and drive consistent brand recognition from day one.

We approached this as a brand-building exercise, not just a product shoot. Before the camera was pointed at a single item, we developed a creative direction that defined the colour language, lighting aesthetic, and compositional style Pixie would own on social media. Execution covered both flat lay product arrangements and lifestyle-driven content that placed the products within the daily rituals of a modern Saudi woman.

( Project Scope )

  • Creative direction and moodboard development to establish Pixie's social media visual identity
  • Studio product photography — flat lay and styled arrangements across the skincare and beauty range
  • Lifestyle photography contextualising products within everyday beauty rituals
  • Post-production including colour grading, retouching, and export in platform-optimised formats
  • Delivery of a structured content library segmented by product category and content type

( Challenges )

Pixie was a new brand with no established visual identity — which meant every creative decision, from surface materials to colour language, had to be made from scratch. There was no existing photography to reference or maintain consistency with, so we had to build the entire visual system in a single session. Photographing beauty and skincare products for the Saudi market also requires sensitivity to local aesthetics: packaging is often multilingual, and the imagery needs to resonate with a young, digitally native Saudi audience who can immediately tell the difference between aspirational content and generic stock-style photography. The brief also required the library to be large enough to sustain weeks of publishing from a single shoot — meaning every frame had to earn its place.

  • ( 001 )
Establishing a distinctive visual identity in the congested Saudi beauty space, where dozens of brands compete for the same audience with near-identical aesthetics
  • ( 002 )
Balancing aspirational presentation with product accuracy — ensuring imagery elevated the brand without overpromising on the product itself
  • ( 003 )
Creating a library large enough to sustain a full content calendar while maintaining visual consistency across every frame

(Results )

Pixie launched their Instagram presence with a complete visual toolkit — flat lays, lifestyle compositions, and close-up detail shots that together created a feed aesthetic coherent enough to be mistaken for a brand with years of content history. The photography library provided enough content to sustain several months of consistent posting without creative repetition. More importantly, it gave Pixie's team a clear visual language to brief future content against — a brand standard set from day one.

  • 1.
Delivered a comprehensive first-session content library ready for immediate publishing across Instagram and Snapchat
  • 2.
Established a clear visual language — colour palette, lighting style, and composition rules — that became the standard for all future Pixie content
  • 3.
Lifestyle imagery generated strong early engagement, with the products positioned as part of a recognisable daily routine rather than isolated commercial items
  • 4.
The visual consistency across the full library gave Pixie's social team a professional toolkit requiring minimal internal creative effort to deploy
